According to the 2007 Dairy Farm
Business Summary by Cornell University, dairy farms in Northern NY pay, on average, $44
per cow in taxes. A major portion these taxes are school taxes. At $44 per cow, a 600 cow
dairy farm pays $26,400 a year to support schools and municipalities.
