Proposed Electric Transmission Lines in Jefferson and Oswego Counties,
Addressing Agricultural Concerns, Workshop Agenda Released
Watertown, NY. The Jefferson County Agricultural Development Corporation (JCADC) has released the agenda for the workshop planned for Thursday, February 14, 2008. Cosponsored
by JCADC and the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District, the workshop will start promptly at 7pm and conclude at 9pm. It is being held at the Henderson Fire
District Building (Community Building) on Route 178 in the hamlet of Henderson.
The workshop is planned to help farmers and landowners who have been contacted by Upstate NY Power Corporation indicating that the Corporation wishes to purchase an easement
for a proposed 240 KV electric transmission line running from Jefferson County into Oswego County. The workshop will provide information assisting farmers and landowners in
making informed decisions. People neighboring the possible site of the transmission line are also encouraged to attend.
